🏮
New Year's Eve, Done RightNo random hotel party. You'll be standing under a sky full of lanterns in Chiang Mai. Nothing compares.

From ancient temples
to a sky on fire.

You land in Chiang Rai and the air already smells different. Jasmine, incense, something you can't name. The next seven days take you through temple towns that feel like living museums, tea plantations on misty hillsides, a hot spring that melts the world away — and then, Chiang Mai.

On New Year's Eve, you'll stand in a crowd of women you now call friends, holding a lantern, and watch the sky fill with light. That moment will stay with you long after you're home.

Day One
🛬
Chiang Rai
Arrival · First Impressions
🍽 Meals: Own
You've landed. Thailand already has you.
The moment you step out, the warmth wraps around you — this isn't just weather, it's welcome. We transfer to Chiang Rai and head straight to the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), a surreal, glittering masterpiece unlike any temple you've ever seen. Then, the Blue Temple — where the indigo walls feel like stepping inside a dream. Tonight, Chiang Rai is yours to explore at your own pace.

Chiang Rai
Villages · Tea · Culture
🍽 Meals: Lunch included
Into the hills — tea, tribes, and quiet beauty.
We visit the Long Neck Village, where the Karen women carry generations of tradition around their necks — a humbling, moving encounter. Then up to the Chui Fong Tea Plantation, where the mist rolls between rows of green and the view stops time. We end the day at Doi Tung, the royal mountain project that turned barren hills into gardens. Lunch is together, conversations are easy, and the afternoon light on the hills is something you'll photograph fifty times.

Day Three
Chiang Rai
Art · History · River
🍽 Meals: Lunch included
Where three countries meet — and the river carries stories.
We start with the Latita Café — a magical garden café that looks like it came out of a fairytale. Then the Black House (Baan Dam), the dark counterpart to the White Temple — raw, bold, unforgettable. In the afternoon, the Golden Triangle: where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the Mekong River. We take a boat cruise out onto the water, watching the landscape shift. It's one of those afternoons that feels almost cinematic.

Day Four
🌿
Chiang Mai
Hot Springs · Craft · Sunset
🍽 Meals: Lunch included
The road to Chiang Mai is as beautiful as the destination.
We check out of Chiang Rai with full hearts and head towards Chiang Mai — but not directly. First, the Mae Kha Chan Hot Spring, where natural mineral pools sit in lush greenery and the water is exactly as warm as it needs to be. Then Sankampang, where we do an umbrella painting workshop — you'll leave with a handmade keepsake and paint on your fingers. We reach Chiang Mai just in time for Doi Suthep at sunset, where monks begin their evening chanting as the sky turns gold. Nothing else quite compares.

Day Five
🏮
Chiang Mai
New Year's Eve · Lanterns · Magic
🍽 Meals: Lunch included
The night the sky catches fire — and so does something inside you.
This is the day everything was building to. We start with a half-day city tour — Wat Phra Singh, the stunning Silver Temple Sri Suphan, and the buzzing Warorot Market, where you'll taste, touch, and bargain for things you didn't know you needed. Lunch is together, and then free time to rest, shop, or simply sit with a Thai iced tea and watch the city prepare.

And then — New Year's Eve. As midnight approaches, you'll light a khom loi lantern, make a wish, and release it into the Chiang Mai sky. Around you, thousands of lanterns rise. The sky becomes a moving, glowing constellation. This is not a moment you'll ever forget.

Day Six

Chiang Mai
Elephants · Nature · Temple
🍽 Meals: Lunch included
They're gentle giants — and they remember everything.
The Elephant Safari is one of those experiences that women on our trips still talk about years later. You'll watch the elephant show, go for a ride through the jungle, and float gently on bamboo rafts down the river — the trees above you, the water below, the world very far away. In the afternoon, we visit Wat Ban Den, a magnificent temple complex that's less crowded and more serene than most — exactly the kind of hidden gem Jugni loves to find. Tonight is your last in Thailand. Make it count.

Flights — The Group Arrives Together
International flights are not included, but we actively help you find the best options. Travellers from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore — we coordinate so everyone lands in Chiang Rai around the same time and the trip starts as a group from moment one.

Questions we hear often.

Do I need a visa for Thailand?
Indian passport holders can get a visa on arrival in Thailand (valid for 30 days). We share a complete guide with requirements, fees, and tips well in advance of the trip. It's one of the easiest visa processes out there.
Will I get to actually release a lantern?
Absolutely yes. The lantern release on New Year's Eve in Chiang Mai is one of the most magical experiences you'll ever have. We make sure you're in the right place at the right time — lantern in hand, sky full of fire, friends beside you.
Is Thailand safe for solo women travellers?
Completely. Thailand is one of the most welcoming countries in the world for women travellers. Add to that the fact that you'll be in a women-only group with Jugni founders Nitesh and Tamanna — you are always with people who have your back.
What's the weather like in late December?
Late December is peak season in Northern Thailand — arguably the best time to visit. Days are warm and sunny (around 25–28°C), evenings are pleasantly cool. No monsoon, no humidity. Pack light layers for the evenings and you're set.
What if I've never travelled internationally before?
You're in exactly the right place. Thailand is one of the most beginner-friendly international destinations — easy to navigate, incredibly hospitable, and endlessly rewarding. We guide you through visa, flights, and packing. Many of our travellers book solo and leave with lifelong friendships.

If a sky full of lanterns
has been on your list — this is your sign.
