Then a full day at Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal — three more UNESCO sites in one sweep.

On the last day, the Vittala Temple. The Stone Chariot. Musical pillars. A coracle ride on the Tungabhadra if you want one. Lunch at Mango Tree. And the quiet understanding that some places change you.

🍽 Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Once the capital of an empire. Today, it still feels like one.
A full day inside Hampi's UNESCO core. We visit the King's Palace — the largest enclosure in Hampi, with two major platforms, an underground treasury chamber believed to be used for secret royal meetings, and the Mahanavami Dibba where kings once watched processions from gem-studded thrones.

We move through the Sasivekalu and Kadalekalu Ganesha sculptures, the panoramic Hemakuta temples cluster, the living Virupaksha Temple with its towering gopuram, Hampi Bazaar, the monolithic Nandi, Krishna Temple, Ugra Narasimha (Hampi's largest statue), Badavi Linga standing in water, Queen's Bath, Hazara Rama Temple covered in Ramayana carvings, the Pushkarini stepped tank, and the Aqueduct — a masterpiece of ancient engineering.

Badami · Aihole · Pattadakal
🍽 Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Three UNESCO sites in one day — the cradle of Indian temple architecture.
An early start for the most ambitious day of the trip. First, the Badami Caves — extraordinary rock-cut temples carved into red sandstone cliffs, with intricate sculptures of Vishnu, Shiva, and Jain figures that have survived fifteen centuries. The North Fort adds underground chambers and platform views.

We continue to Banashankari — a quaint village with a stunning Dravidian goddess temple. Then Aihole, known as the "Cradle of Indian Temple Architecture," with over 125 carved temples including the Lad Khan, Durga, Ravalphadi, and Meguthi Jain temples. We close the day at Pattadakal, a World Heritage site showcasing the finest early Chalukyan architecture — ten major temples that form a textbook of styles.

Vittala Temple
Stone Chariot · Musical Pillars · Coracle Ride
🍽 Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
The Stone Chariot. The one on your ₹50 note. You're standing in front of it.
The Vittala Temple complex — the crown jewel of Hampi — is where the whole trip has been quietly building to. The iconic Stone Chariot, frozen in granite for five centuries. The Musical Pillars that ring with different notes when tapped. The towering gateway towers, the sculpted friezes, the sense that you are standing inside a civilisation's highest ambition.

Then — Queen's Bath once more, unhurried this time. Optional: a coracle ride on the Tungabhadra — a slow, circular bamboo boat that drifts with the current while Hampi's boulders tower on either bank. Lunch at Mango Tree, a riverside favourite where the group unwinds. Free time for last-minute shopping — vibrant textiles, stone carvings, handloom keepsakes.

🌅 Matanga Hill at sunset — Hampi's highest viewpoint — turns the whole boulder landscape gold. If time allows, this is non-negotiable.

A few things to

Questions we hear often.

Is Hampi safe for solo women travellers?
Hampi is a well-established heritage tourism destination and is generally safe. With Jugni, you're in a women-only group with a dedicated trip leader and private transport throughout — so you're never navigating it alone. Our guides know Hampi deeply and handle everything on the ground.
How much walking is involved?
Hampi involves moderate walking — the sites are spread across a large area and some involve uneven terrain and stone steps. We pace the itinerary thoughtfully, with breaks and lunches built in. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. If you can walk for 4–5 hours with breaks, you're set.
What's the weather like in December?
December is one of the best times to visit Hampi. Temperatures are pleasant — 20–28°C during the day, cooler in the evenings. No rain, clear skies, and golden light on the ruins. Pack light layers for the evenings and comfortable, breathable clothes for daytime.
Is the coracle ride safe?
Yes — coracle rides on the Tungabhadra are a Hampi staple and perfectly safe. The circular bamboo-and-tar boats are operated by experienced local boatmen. The ride is calm, unhurried, and one of the most peaceful ways to see Hampi from the water.
Can I buy souvenirs in Hampi?
Absolutely. Hampi has a lovely bazaar with stone carvings, handloom fabrics, lampshades, and local handicrafts. We build in free shopping time on Day 4. Bargaining is part of the culture — enjoy it!
What if I've never travelled solo before?
Hampi with Jugni is a wonderful first solo trip — it's domestic, English-friendly, fully guided, and the group dynamic makes everything easier. Many of our Hampi travellers are first-timers who came nervous and left confident. You'll find your rhythm quickly.
